Dr Gautam Mehta is an academic physician and scientist, developing gene therapy for liver failure as part of his Wellcome Trust PhD at University College London. Gautam’s other conference talk this week is titled “Vicky, Christina, Hepatology, Barcelona” – reflecting his international experience of healthcare and science, having won Fellowships to work in Barcelona and Yale Universities. Gautam has also co-authored textbooks on medicine, communication skills and medical ethics for Oxford University Press, and is a co-founder of Elite Medical Courses Ltd. On this background of science, medicine and communication, Gautam’s current interest is developing communication and innovation in biomedical science over the next decade.
